Diversos estudos, indicam, que dependendo da maneira que a colheita \u00e9 efetuada, a qualidade do fruto ser\u00e1 influenciada. Colhedores treinados tendem a causar menos injurias a frutos no momento da colheita, do que colhedores sem treinamento e com desconhecimento da tarefa a qual n\u00e3o foram adequadamente instru\u00eddos a fazer. O projeto FAPESP \u2013 2010\/51155-6, abordou este tema em profundidade, com o desenvolvimento de um prot\u00f3tipo \u2013 laborat\u00f3rio m\u00f3vel \u2013 para estudos da colheita auxiliada em campo para frutas e hortali\u00e7as. Prot\u00f3tipo com chassi retr\u00e1til, o qual foi testado para laranja em estudos da colheita auxiliada em campo. Ap\u00f3s testes em campo foi\u00a0reformulado com uma estrutura retr\u00e1til e menor, mantendo o movimento independente das rodas, permitindo que o equipamento possa girar sobre o seu pr\u00f3prio eixo e assim, assumir diferentes finalidades em\u00a0uma propriedade rural. Embora j\u00e1 exista uma s\u00e9rie de\u00a0equipamentos de pequena escala para os pequenos\u00a0produtores, em muitos pa\u00edses subdesenvolvidos a\u00a0classifica\u00e7\u00e3o ainda \u00e9 feita manualmente. Neste contexto, a\u00a0Embrapa Instrumenta\u00e7\u00e3o vem trabalhando no\u00a0desenvolvimento de equipamentos com foco no\u00a0pequeno produtor, a fim de diminuir as etapas\u00a0p\u00f3s-colheita, possibilitando a classifica\u00e7\u00e3o e padroniza\u00e7\u00e3o\u00a0de produtos de forma eficiente, como o tomate,\u00a0agregando valor aos frutos sem reduzir sua
